Preparing for SORP

To support preparations for the FEHE SORP (effective from 1 January 2026 and expected to be published in August 2025), a webinar was hosted by KPMG's Accounting Advisory Services team in May 2025 outlining the most crucial updates, the implications of the changes, and practical guidance on how to address them. The recording of the recent webinar is available to the public, so any auditors or FE accountants can view it. Our practical 'Ready, Set, SORP' guide is a useful read for those planning implementation, including a handy checklist. BUFDG members can also sign up for the next SORP Implementation Forum (9 September 2025) to discuss the changes and implications involved in the adoption of the 2026 SORP with others.

Finance and other systems used in universities

We've gathered information from our members about which financial and other systems they use, and captured the finance system for 123 universities/higher education providers, plus the systems/software used for payroll, expenses, CT returns, VAT returns, and global mobility for many of them.
